Nov 13 Workshop - Agenda

I am so encouraged by the number of folks who will be coming this Sunday afternoon for the first time to the Vocational Gift Workshop...taking follow on steps after the BIG meeting to apply the truth of the messages heard to their lives in a very practical .

See the Single Blogs posting  http://www.covlife.org/one for more details on the purpose for and specifics of tomorrow's workshop.

Because of the number of new folks, we will be dedicating the time this session (and the next workshop on Nov 27)  to introductory topics including:

(1) interest and skill assessment

(2) introduction to ONET and SIGI3 online resources that help connect God-given skills to over 800 possible jobs to confirm or begin to explore those vocations that we are best suited for

(Note:  You will need a major credit card to sign up for a 90 day membership to SIGI3 for $17.95. If time permits, we will be going down to the CLS computer lab so as many folks as desire, can simultaneously access ONET and SIGI3.   If the SIGI3 membership is a hardship you can not afford right now, please see me privately as a CLC member has graciously offered to pay for folks who can not afford the cost.  There is no additional cost for the workshop as the exercise and related information booklet you will receive will be given to you at no cost)

(3) Information interviewing - key to strategic and informed career path discovery

...and last but far from least

(4) praying for one another...and our "next steps" ...asking God to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves...showing us what his will is for us in this season in the workplace.

Finally,  I do encourage the folks who have been coming to  the workshops previously to join us as well to continue to fine tune God's will for your life and to stay engaged in "next step" planning by faith...in what is arguably one of the most difficult challenges and trials of life..finding jobs and advancing career in difficult economic times.

The good thing is we know God is faithful and he is good...and he will complete the work he he has started in our lives.. which includes his providence...his ongoing care for us and provision for all we need (Matt 6:33).

Please RSVP to this email either confirming.... or for the first time indicating...it is not too late to sign up for tomorrow... your desire to attend.

For his glory and our best good,

Art Shenk
