Be Positive, Do Things Differently and Plan

1.  Be positive
  • Believe your job search will be a success
  • Associate with people who can have a positive impact on that goal
2.  Do things differently 
  • The internet is a great source to connect with people
  • Don't limit it's use to just just applying for jobs that are "advertised" or you will be missing a ton of opportunities
  • Use the internet to find the "hidden job" market that sources say account for 70% to 80%  of the jobs on the market (openings that are there and can be filled but are not advertised)
3. Plan
  • For every 100 qualified resumes received for a job opening, 4 to 7 are invited for an interview and 1 receives an offer
  • You need to have a daily plan and you must work it
  • Cold calling and making connections with other professionals should be the foundation of that plan
